Not a straight

Twelve roles since 2009, across fintech, health, telecoms, energy and more. From writing reports to designing platforms, and from building on my own to leading and mentoring others.
Career chapters
Make it work.
At Influential Software, I learned what happens when the business depends on a report being right. At GForces, I integrated external vehicle data into a production system. The lesson: software is only useful when it meets the world outside it.
REPORTING · TESTS · INTEGRATIONSDifferent problems, same curiosity.
A bespoke CMS at TME Solutions, my first lead role at Huddlebuy (payments, data encryption and third-party integrations), SaaS features at QOREX, patent-renewal workflows at IP Centrum covering more than 50 countries, and full-stack product work at Link Health Group. No two problems looked alike, which was half the appeal.
PHP · LEADING A TEAM · ANGULARJS · MYSQLChange carefully.
At Deko, I helped move a lending platform out of a legacy monolith into Java services one piece at a time, using domain-driven design, event storming and the Strangler Pattern. Then came customer onboarding at WorldFirst and configurable clinical-research data at uMotif. PHP 8 and MySQL 8 upgrades at Raymond James taught me the same lesson from the other side: modernising isn't the same as rewriting, and tests and careful releases protect what already works.
JAVA · DDD · STRANGLER PATTERN · MODERNISATION · TESTINGEverything connects.
At Telecom Acquisitions, I designed supplier-agnostic integration architecture, APIs and event-driven workflows for broadband and energy sales, and owned them from requirements and domain modelling through deployment, monitoring and production support. I also mentored two developers.
ARCHITECTURE · AZURE · SERVICE BUS · TERRAFORM · MENTORINGNew domain. New questions.
The next chapter is at Transact, working on integrations in financial services. I like entering a domain with plenty still to learn.
INTEGRATIONS · FINANCIAL SERVICESAnd the point of all this?
The stacks and industries changed. The job didn't: take something complicated, make it dependable, and leave it easier to change than I found it.
